Stoned Out Of My Mind | 11-28-12

Brand new edition of Stoned OUt Of My Mind today!!! Sorry about there not being a new show/update last week, I was out of town for Thanksgiving. But now I'm back and with a ton of great new stuff to play. Great new releases from the likes of Blank Realm, Total Control, The UV Race, and more. The show ends with some great heavy psych: one track off the awesome and super-rare "Round the Edges" LP by Dark, and two by the super-heavy biker psych group Wicked Lady, with guitarist Martin Weaver being the link between the two groups. The WL material is all from a series of demos recorded between 1968 and 1972, put into two comps and released for the first time in the 90s on CD by Kissing Spell, and recently reissued on vinyl by Guerssen Records. ULTRA HEAVY PSYCH, WOW SO GOOD!!

Lotsa new punk and hardcore and shit...... too bad the turntables were hooked up wrong when I went in and I didn't get it fixed til like halfway through the show so sound quality on some of this stuff may be questionable.... Cool stuff to keep an eye out for: the great Watery Love "Two Thrills" 7" that came out on NGL last year is getting a repress thanks to Little Big Chief Records, so be sure to scoop one up if you were sleepin' the first time around or didn't want to pay shipping from Australia. Two great cuts from the Action Swingers never before pressed to wax are finally getting their proper release thanks to the folks at Florida's Dying/Total Punk, the A side will be "Miserable Life" (my favorite song of theirs) and "Losing My Cool" on the flip. NO SHOW AGAIN TODAY, SORRY!

So i'm bein lame and staying home again today but here's why:

a) It's finals week on the campus and it's Monday which means parking is gonna be a total clusterfuck. I also work different, later hours so I'd have to bum around for a few hours after doing the show before even starting work instead of just being able to go in right after. That sucks.

b) I'm still waiting on a few records that were on the set I had planned out anyway so I'll just do the show next week, when no one's around, at a better time, and with the records in hand so I'm not half-assing it anyway. Stay tuned to find out when the make-up show will be!

In the meantime I'm thinkin' i'll write up a few more shitty reviews for everyone to read, cuttin' back on the booze this week so maybe i'll actually get some stuff done

Hey everyone, there was no STONED OUT OF MY MIND today because the KSDT site's been down since the campus had a major power outage over the weekend, so I'm assuming the stream/archive is also down, and since it's my day off for the holiday anyway I just stayed home... but it's all good since I had a pretty good set planned out but I got a couple new singles on their way to me in the mail and when I get those it'll really bring the whole thing together much better so make sure to tune in next week for some cool tunes!!
